Stan is an attorney with Drumm Law. Before joining the firm, he practiced law as in-house attorney for two NYSE-traded corporations, and in private practice with several medium to large law firms. Then in 2006 he opened his own law practice in suburban Cleveland specializing in Franchise Law matters.

A member of the American Bar Association’s Forum on Franchising since 1990, Stan represents Franchisors and Franchisees across the country. Stan handles a wide variety of franchise law assignments, from helping businesses write their first franchise documents to helping franchisors and franchisees resolve their disputes with or without litigation. Stan is admitted to practice law in Ohio, and has also been admitted to handle individual cases by federal courts in Arizona and New Jersey. In addition, Stan serves as Adjunct Professor of Law at Case Western Reserve University Law School, teaching an annual course on Franchise Law each year since 2016.

Stan played a leading role in passage of the 2012 amendments to Ohio’s Business Opportunity Act, the state’s only law relating to franchising. He wrote the first draft of the amendments and eventually testified on the Bill when it was being considered by the Ohio House of Representatives.

Stan grew up in Cleveland where he was both the youngest (16) and tallest (6-6 ½) in his high school class of 1,000. That was a long time ago but he reports that he’s still tall. He enjoys spending time with his wife and children and ten grandchildren as well as his own baby (a 20 lb. bichon named Benny). Stan is an accomplished tournament bridge player, holding the rank of Platinum Life Master in the national bridge organization, and he loves to compete at national competitions.
